Bruce,

Have had sent this to John, from Ian Clayton a very long-standing A7 man and ex deputy editor of the Grey Mag:

Hallo John Rooney

The Super Accessories 'Super' Bodyshell and Chassis you have rescued is definately not the one I owned in the early '60's (Reg BGP 530-now somewhere in Kent minus body I think). but I do still have a 'Supaloy' cylinder head and 3 different editions of the Super Accessories catalogue dating from their days in Bromley and Lewisham High Street (bodyshell £25.00 in 1962). I now am in the final stages of a 29 year 'restoration of a 'Speedex 750 Austin Special of about the same date - the move here to co. Cork in 2000 delayed things a bit.

Anyway, if you can obtain a copy of the Austin 7 Clubs' Association magazine 1987D you will find an aticle on the foundation and history of Super Accessories written by its owner Les Montgomery.

If no-one else has tipped you off about him by now, you should contact the Association Archivist Phil Baildon who had a 'Super Acc. Special -which I think he sold to a Japanese enthusiast- and who, a few short years ago, did keep a register of surviving Super Accessories A7 Specials and their whereabouts..
