I stand to be corrected, but:

Very early cars 10bhp@2400 rpm then 12 or 13 at about 3000

13 too for the cars up until mid 1936, when the 3-bearing engine was introduced, whic had then 17 at about 3400.

Early sports models such as Brooklands and the first racers quoted as about 24 at 5000 rpm.

Unblown Ulster 24 at 5000, Speedy too.

Nippy about 20-24 at about 5000.

Blown Ulster 33 at 5000; some Speedies blown

TT cars about 50 at 6000.

Duck 56 at about 7000.

Sidevalve 70 at about 7000.

Twin Cam 90 at about 9000, although up to 115 has been quoted at about 11,000 rpm as potential.

A modern, blown, standard-engined car can be made to produce considerable amounts of power with the benefit of steel cranks etc., say 40-50 bhp+, but Ulster blocks recommended! Normal engines will happily produce 30+ bhp.

My contacts via 750 say some racers are producing about 77bhp now!!

Barry.
