Can I use a mag crankcase with the rest of a coil engine ?

After a slight mis-hap , I am thinking of trying to repair my 1930 coil engine by using an earlier mag crankcase . I know I can fit the larger crank easily , can I use the dynamo/distributor set up without too much hassle ?
