Bruce, yes, when I said earlier models, I was referring to Ruby types, not Boxes.

I firmly believe Austin produced all the parts for Berlin for the Ruby types and probably assembled them too. The Swedish car has English chassis and engine numbers, from the normal 1936 sequence - there is every reason to believe my car was alongside the Swedish one on the Longbridge line. As I said, it is NOT a conversion. The floor pan is a proper Factory pressing, as is the dashboard. The brakes are hybrid - they look a bit like the uncoupled 29/30 ones, with the front part having the plate which the cable bends over, but they are coupled. All the parts appear very productionised and the pedal is secured to the chassis on a special lug, not through the steering box. I can provide pictures if required and I'm sure the Olsson's would love to see pics of the US-based car. Are they different than I have described - this might indicate Berlin manufacture, but this would have been very expensive to replicate and ship out the presses.

Barry.
