Sorry for being so dumb, but to my untrained eye, Bruce's drawing looks the same as in all my Handbooks, also page 102 of Williams. Certainly a mystery re the extra bolt and spacer - as you know my Pramhood stuff is in storage, so can't readily check if on early standard cars. Noticed since that the Pivot BK26 I referred to for Dennis remained the same but with number changed to BK38 before the "pointy" BK38 appeared. Whilst on the subject of un/ or coupled brakes, why do all books say they started June 1930? Apart from the '29 Super Sports, even the over-the-counter EA from Feb. '30 had them and the Handbook had been changed to describe & illustrate the coupled set-up by May 1930, suggesting perhaps that they were more universal than just on the Sports?. Strange mistake - a bit like the '24 factory Sports which is supposed to have first come out in March, whereas the first chassis no. mentioned is much earlier, plus "Motor" had a photo of one on 8th Jany.,also I have a photo of one competing in a trial in early February! Suggest January saw the first one, as the drawings Stanley Edge loaned me were done in early Dec. '23. (The motor in mine is dated 22/3/24 yet my corresponding chassis is 800+ on from the alleged first car. At that time they were only producing 2-300 a month). Enough nonsense. Bill
