Bruce - agree with you that unless you're going into serious racing, or your chassis is in a really bad way, all this re-enforcing un-necessary, but Dennis seemed to be in this parlous position. The bent front crossmembers only prove that the cars in question have run into something at some time (or often) - normally not a design fault. Once straightened, shouldn't need any re-enforcing. Re your Comet - is it really on a short chassis? All your photos indicated 6'9" WB to me. Cheers, Bill
