I've just read an article claiming big handling improvements for saloons through increasing castor angle to about 10 degrees from Herbert's designed 5 degrees. This is done by dropping the radius arm ball joint by some 1.5 inches.

Just a thought - on the sports models, the axle is raised relative to the chassis by much the same amount and castor angle is maintained by the dropped radius arms. So an increased castor should be achieved on sports models by using standard (un-dropped) arms. Obviously the ball joint would have to be moved forward but that would not be a problem. Has anyone tried this? Where's the snag?
