Interesting subject- Specials As an automotive engineer of a year or three's standing, its always been my contention that special building ought to be part of a degree course syllabus. That apart, a good special ought not to be an "Austin 7" special, just a "Special". That doesn't mean a good number of A7 parts shouldn't figure, because as we all know A7s are ideal special building material. Look at some of the better examples, we have Lotus, Cooper, Lightweight, Harker, to name but a few. My advice would be to not take the thing too seriously and just build the thing. If its a good one, then the various clubs will be only too keen to claim allegiance, anyway! Regards Alan
