Reading the informed comment on steering, I have hardly dared relate the method I have used on my trials car to obtain a reasonable steering set up, but, as Barry has now touch on the basis of it, here goes.

The steering, from building the car, had always been either slack or tight whatever adjustment I used so, before the 2000 VSCC Welsh Trial, I set the thing up as best I could on the tight side.

I then drove the 200 mile qualification run prior to the trial (in our case from New Radnor to Pembroke and back) and, at the end, found that the steering had slackened up to the point that it was just right. It continues to be so to this day.

Not good engineering I know, but it worked for me!
