Does the Mulliner body put excessive strain on the column? Two failures would seem to indicate a fundamental problem here.
Certainly, in the Ulster bodies, as everything moves so much you would have expected this to happen and of these I have most experience. If the column clamp is loosened, does the column pull itself into a different position I wonder? If so, it may have excessive strain imposed on it. Likewise, if the body flexes excessively, the same thing may happen.
