I did much the same as Steve just described and it is now fine. I did spend a lot of time lapping in the best combination as well. I did however make another modification to the drag link.
I have added a couple of new pages re all this topic....
The first is on the cast iron steering box that I am currently setting up for the Meteor Special and the other covers the drag link modification currently used on the other Seven. (NOT recommended reading for the purists out there! but it's nice to drive)
