I note the mod described by Bruce - my Ulster has this (it came from Oz). The only difference is that I have an Allen screw, instead of the slotted one.
The question is, how much should the spring really be compressed? I think all the spring should be squashed, like my answer to the "A" frame question, but most A7s spring a lot here. Certainly, my friendly MOT man says if there is any movement it should be adjusted out with the screw and I can do this. Not with the others however. This involves an extraordinary amount of force being imposed and of course impossible by one person and usually ends up with the nice new bolt having the nice new threads ruined anyway!
What does the panel think??
