Bruce, It is a long time since I done this so can't remember, but looking at it as if I was doing it now, I would cut the jet off as near as possible to the crankcase and make up a stepped brass drift to fit the inside and slightly under the outside diameter of the jet a good sharp tap should do the trick, I would also try to get a bit of local heat around the area.
