I used to run on a straight R30 but found on cold mornings it was very thick (with very high oil pressure) and after a fair hammering the oil pressure dropped off a lot. Great smell though! I've since converted to an old style 20-50 (Castrol XL 20-50). I'd avoid the more modern grades like 10-40 - they'll leak more.
