Ian, I am missing something here. The threaded "neck" eg modified brass threaded nipple, has a thread on one end to accept the cap. The other end is machined to a simple straight brass "tube" and soldered to the tank. there is nothing into which the threaded neck screws into. The only screwing to be done is by the radiator cap.
