Thanks Greg, Just been down to the Chummy to have a look, but there is not enough space between the tank and the cowl to see anything, Its 25 years since I last worked on the rad. So can't remember how it goes. I have an old rad. with no neck it has a hole 1 3/4" in the tank, the part that the cap screws on the chummy is 1 1/4" so are we saying that the brass neck is stepped 1/2"? Regards Ian
