It looks heavy, but the Works-type body always does look this way (nice at the front - ugly at the rear) - wonder how much it weighs?
It's all about power-to-weight ratio - see John Suttons site for Mac's details. 70 bhp in 6 1/2 cwt gives about 200bhp/ton, 40bhp obviously only 120, which is still good. My 30 bhp (estimated) in my 8 1/2 cwt gives just 75bhp/ton, so I get 0-60 in about 19 seconds. Nothing else really matters - look at Simplicity for lightness and to some extent Lotus for handling.
Rod built my Ulster special body and Tim prepared my engine so it should still be fast.
