Hold it Craig me boy, don't run it again until you have checked your breathers. In the tappet cover you will find several small holes. These are the breathing system for the entire engine, if they are not open you will blow the rear main if nothing else.
I can be a trap to cover these holes when fitting a gasket, make sure they are OPEN!
