Very interesting point, Ian, about the baffles directing oil to the big ends. I would love to know what happens in there when the engine is running, I imagine it as a bit of a pea souper! However, overnight I would think you must be right, oil draining off the bores may well end up somewhere near the big end journals, given a bit of luck. I confess I had forgotten that Williams was an advocate of oil baffles. Perhaps I should ensure that oil baffles are fitted in my Specials, out of respect! Incidentally, the only Loctite product I have used recently is their wicking thread lock, which will creep into an already assembled fastener. It all has to be clean, of course. I used it to seal a hairline crack in the water jacket of my (alloy!) cylinder head, with success so far, 6 months later. Regards, Stuart
