If 515 is as good as you say, using it on the sump would have the effect of boxing up the crankcase, the additional torsional stiffness would take some of the strain off the block to crankcase joint. I have the original gasket and bolts plus the long flat washers but always find leaks develop and find that I can always "tweak" them up a bit more, but as you all know these bolts are the most breakoffable ones on the car.
