Thanks Bruce. We had been after a 3 wheeler for some time and gave up in frustration, we bought a 1970 4/4 4 seater in stead from NZ and bought it over. The 3 wheeler came up from someone in Perth who knew we were keen to buy one, and the rest is history. Both cars are what takes me away from this sight a bit more than I used to be away.
The three wheeler is great to drive, the first thing noticeable is how sturdy it is. Long established driving habits need to be rehashed, the potholes and manhole covers one always straddles, are now fair game for the single back wheel!
Another trap is a "U" turn, as the throttle is on the steering wheel, not unlike an old Victa lawn mower. When it is time to do a "U" turn, not only do you have take in the fact that car has the turning circle of a dray, but you need to set the controls well before the turn! When you are doing your turn the controls are all upside down and back the front!
Great fun, and pulls a great crowd, I will email a photo to anyone interested.
