Would be great to hear from someone who has overcome this problem without blood, sweat and tears. Many may not know that some of the early cars (6" brakes of course) had slots not only in the shoes but in the linings, so it was possible to unhook, re-hook the springs by only removing the drums. I said possible, but could also be frustrating. Perhaps the loss of that miniscule but vital bit of braking area on the lining prompted them to abandon the idea. Cheers, Bill
