Yes this can be a big problem, you may find it impossible to remove them if they are really rusted in, if it comes to the point that you fear damage to the chassis drill out the rivets that hold the bottom plate to the main rails, you may find that they will come loose after about three pairs from the end are removed replace with 1/4" H/T bolts, Regards Ian
