A few random thoughts on this topic. If you look at www.roverworks.com/images.html there are some pictures of an 8-stud blown car they are rebuilding, said to be no. 12. Pictures took a while to load. Speedies; don't hold me to this but I think I have heard that the highest body no. known is in the 70s. I remember being surprised, but if I am right, Bill will be gratified. Shall check with my source at the weekend. A couple of friends of mine owned the same Speedy at different times in the 60s and 70s. I only ever drove it round the service roads at Cadwell Park, but I liked it. The driving position was a lot nicer than the Type 65 I had then and the 9E camshaft worked well at the rate I was travelling. I worked on this car a fair bit in the late 60s. I remember being surprised by how heavy the rear wings and mounting brackets were. I still have most of a Speedy engine and a genuine unnumbered sports long chassis in the shed. Perhaps my project no. 99 could be an English replica of Bill's blown Speedy? Regards, Stuart
