Ian Moorcraft comments that Rinsley Mills book 'Original Austin Seven' can be nit-picked like any other. At the end of the chapter on 'Engine' is the short para. "Engines fitted to cars were normally left with aluminium castings bare and the block and head enamelled black; the cooling fan was painted red". Various pictures in this book show red fans, but the vast majority of fans I've seen have been bare aluminium. Has the red worn off? Am I nit picking the text?
I bought the book this weekend at Lacock, UK, it's what I'd call a 'coffee table book', but the pictures are great and there was some information that clarified a few points for me - so it was worth it for that.
