I have included a page on my version of putting brake shoe springs back on without removing the hubs on your Seven in the ‘Technical Information’ section on this site. This method was shown to me by my Dad many years ago and is useful on many tasks that involve fitting tension springs. It is very similar to Greg’s method described earlier on this forum. As Greg mentioned, use a good quality piece of steel wire, something better then the mild steel used on coat hangers is desirable. I recently helped a local Club member refit his brake springs and the process described made the job very easy. I hope this helps others….. Give it a go.
